Current Volunteer Positions Open
E-Newsletter Editor: The E-Newsletter Editor is responsible for the content of the LDSEHE electronic newsletter, which will be e-mailed to members quarterly. He/she will work closely with the Publicity Director, Publicity Committee and Executive Board to determine the communication needs for each newsletter. He/she will gather synopses of past conference talks, solicit submissions from members and compose content, as needed. Excellent communication, writing and editing skills are necessary. Additional technical knowledge (format design, etc.) is advantageous, but not imperative. The E-Newsletter Editor must be able to commit several hours of service to LDSEHE at least 4 times a year. The term of service for the E-Newsletter Editor is 1 year, renewable annually. This position is currently open.
Web Team Member (E-Conferences): This Web Team Member is responsible for helping facilitate future e-conferences for LDSEHE. Experience in programming, and electronic conferencing is necessary. He/she must be a “team player” and have good communication skills. This Web Team member will work closely with the rest of the Web Team, the Publicity Director and the Executive Board. The time commitment would be heavier at first, as the system is initially researched and implemented. After that, the Web Team Member must be willing to commit several hours of service during times of the year the e-conference is offered (most likely 1-2 times a year). The term of service for this Web Team Member is 1 year, renewable annually. This position is currently open.
2009 Volunteer Positions Open
Conference Committee Members: For the 2009 Conference we’d like to expand the number of Conference Committee Members. These members work closely with the Executive Board. Under the direction of the President, they help research, plan, coordinate and implement all aspects of the annual conference. The committee begins work on the conference immediately following the previous year’s conference. They must be enthusiastic about home education, excited about the LDSEHE conference and committed to the mission of LDSEHE. They must be willing to work as a team. The Conference Committee must be willing to commit many hours of work on a weekly basis (including weekly or semi-weekly conference calls) at various times in the year preceding the conference. They must attend the conference and work at various times during the conference. The term of service for the Conference Committee is 1 year, although they may be invited to serve again.
Youth Conference Committee Members: For the 2009 Conference we’d like to expand the number of Youth Conference Committee Members. The Youth Conference Committee works closely with the Vice President helping to research, plan, coordinate and implement all aspects of the annual Youth Education Conference. The committee begins work on the conference immediately following the previous year’s conference. They must be enthusiastic about home education, excited about the Youth Conference and committed to the mission of LDSEHE. They must be willing to work as a team. The Youth Committee must be willing to commit many hours of work on a weekly basis (including weekly or semi-weekly conference calls) at various times in the year preceding the conference. They must attend the conference and work at various times during the conference. The term of service for the Youth Conference Committee is 1 year, although they may be invited to serve again.
Assistant Publicity Director: The Assistant Publicity Director works under the direction of the Publicity Director. He/she assists the Publicity Director in all matter pertaining to the publicity of LDSEHE, the annual conference, membership and other LDSEHE future programs (e-conferences, etc.). The Assistant Publicity Director will work with the Publicity Director and the Publicity Committee to implement the yearly publicity plan and help further the long-term publicity goals of LDSEHE. He/she must be willing to commit hours of service to LDSEHE, at several times throughout the year. He/she must possess great communication and people skills. The term of service for the Assistant Publicity Director is 1 year, renewable annually.
